Making my way to CMB on an AA 35k Business redemption CBR-MEL-SIN-CMB.

As originally booked it was to be a 767 ex CBR then a 744 ex MEL. Checked a week prior to find the 744 had become an A330.. so a little miffed.. but hey, substitutions happen.

No (apparent) priority check-in at CBR.. (?) Roving agent looked at my info and directed me to what seemed to be the normal line... no big deal.. but a little miffed again.

Check in agent was very good.....

Got to the Business Lounge (pretty decent IMO!) and front desk agent informed me the 767 flight was likely to be cancelled... so I was now on the earlier 734... <Sigh!> Still it happens.. and she was exceptionally friendly/bright/helpful. I did ask if I could be routed via SYD (A380 to SIN...) which was a bit cheeky of course...but that wasn't going to happen...

Another excellent staff member....

Flight was fine...FA's were as good as the other QF staff I've dealt with today.. BUT THOSE SEATS!

Glad it was only an hour.....I was NOT comfortable. More than miffed this time... (peeved?;))

First time transiting MEL BTW... beats SYD hollow doesn't it?

Lounge here is just fine too... front desk staff keeping up the standard today....

SO... so far the people of QANTAS have made it a good experience.... but I'm glad I didn't pay $$$ for that "Business class" flight to MEL..... (for all I know the 767 wouldn't have been any better of course...or in fact ANY domestic Biz... still.. had for some reason expected better....)

Let's see how the long haul is.....
