I hope thats not suggesting that the 350s also won't have IFE.. very different flight times.
More a reference to the colour palette and seat fabrics.

"That includes a soft charcoal pattern fabric with claret headrest, a sculpted backrest and narrow armrests between the seats."

The A350 is using the latest in next gen IFE from Panasonic's Astrova series.

From memory the spec sheet had it as a 13" 4k OLED Screen, BT connectivity, streaming capable with multiple 67w USB C output along with loads of modular configurations. Add in that the a350 is supposed to launch with proper streaming capable wifi, I'd say once those come in, it'd be a very competitive IFE.

I suspect with regards to IFE on the A220, it will depend if QF wants to configure any for mainline and QFi operations.

We probably won't see any potential ones until much later in the delivery as I would guess they want real world data on how the A220 is performing before deciding on whether to take it the full distance.

Well according to the blog that we don’t name, the A220’s will have Q streaming and free wifi. But who knows if they are accurate.

That was a given i thought with the Qantas presentation on the a220 from the get go. But actual screens and the seat was the unknown.

Well according to that same blog that was known for their antics at a few events last year, some poster suggested it was supposed to "have IFE from Tip to Tail"

717 crew told me they expected normal service on A220 to start in march. One of the cabin crew said she was doing her training on monday.
Checked March and later in the website booking schedule and couldn’t see anything. Guess it will get updated soon!

I think we'll get an official announcement once they feel like they can lock in a date. This is also a PR event for QF (Hey look new aircraft!) so they will want some attention.

I don't know why you need a screen for a short haul flight. If flying domestic I'd prefer a device holder and wifi to watch my own stuff.

This is the 717 replacement aircraft. Perhaps if they plan to use some internationally, those might get a different config. I would think the immediate need is to replace the 717s.

Tend to agree.. though may be more problematic for parents with youngish kids who don't have own devices.

Will be interesting to see what QF does with it's first domestic configured 321XLRs

Not having a dig at you moa999, but that’s a sign of the times if ever I’ve seen it. I still remember the good old days when children could be occupied with reading books or colouring in / drawing with pens or pencils, or - shock horror - parents actually engaging with them in conversation. After all, we’re talking short haul flights here…

My two kids made it from Mel to Hkg and back fine without IFE back in the day. Ive travelled on many 0->10hr flights and only turned it on to look at route map after a nap to see where we are. I don’t get the many people on social media these days who are always complaining they are bored and the media blaming high crime rates on bored youth.
