So Mr Pippy was 110 SC's from gold, so with the use of a double status offer we trotted off to the Gold Coast for the Australia Day weekend.
He flew on a JASA one way and a YASA the other. His membership year finished 31st Jan.

Sounds good doesnt it, a weekend on the sunny Gold Coast and an elevation in his QFF status to Gold.

What went wrong?
Ex Cyclonic conditions in Qld, didnt exactly ruin our weekend but certainly saw us spending a lot of time in our room with no hope of any outdoor activities.
It was pretty horrific up there and the wind and rain and unreliable lifts in the high rise we stayed in kept us in room most of the weekend. Most of it spent watching all the dramas unfold on the TV and feeling bad for all of the poor people with flooding etc and feeling guilty for complaining about our weekend being ruined.

Flight home cancelled and had to fly out of Brisbane the next day (this was handled great by Qantas by the way), but meant that perhaps his DSC's for the return flight may not eventuate, although Qantas did tell us it will be OK just ring on Tuesday and get it sorted.

Cost of an extra nights accomodation, and car hire to get us to Brisbane.

I discovered when we arrived home that my trusty suitcase was missing a handle and had 4 large sharp screws now protruding from the bag making it unusable in the future.

So Mr Pippy rings Qantas, and they say no problem once your DSC from the first flight come through we will manually enter your DSC's for the changed flight, however no sign of the DSC'S from our flight on the 26th yet so waiting waiting waiting. Mry Pippy is Flying again next week and was hoping to have his Gold status so he can use the lounges and get the extra miles (about 800).

He has called Qantas again and they said could take 6 weeks for the DSC's to post but as we are traveling overseas in 6 weeks they will manually credit them if they havent shown up in 4 weeks. He will have had another 4 flights by that time.

It should have all been so easy, sounded great on paper! Actually we were going to go to Melbourne but were enticed by the DSC's.

On the up side, we did enjoy the Business lounge at Sydney, and at Brisbane they let us both in to the Qantas lounge on Mr Pippys 1 complimentary pass, even though it was only for one, so all was not lost and than kyou Qantas.

So I guess its just a case of sitting back and waiting for the DSC's from the 26th to post so we can get it sorted out, and next time we are going to Melbourne! haha

Can anyone give me an indication of how long DSC's are taking to credit at the moment? Patience is not one of my virtues.

They do take a couple of extra days for the DSC to post - in my case around a week after the usual SC points are posted, but they did show up.

In my case the DSC took 4 weeks to show up last year - I just checked my old activity statements to make sure.
