Saturday at 6.00a.m. found me at OOL to pick up Son and G/daughter on their arrival from NRT on JQ. Reading signs looking for Inter arrivals, the arrows kept pointing me north of T2, but could find no arrivals area. A quick chat to a DJ lady answered my querie " Only LCC's fly here, so you get a low cost terminal!" She then showed me where arrivals is, yep outside of T2. Fair enough, but awaiting sons appearance thru the glass doors noticed three S.L.S.C. people(?) with hand fulls of advertising junk who were standing inside the barricade right in front of the doors, making it impossible to see those comming out, and scarring the hell out of the sleep deficient PAX, after a 9 hour flight, as they walked out into the open air. (another shock to a few tourists I spoke to)
I thought this was rather poor P.R. at arrivals, always thought the barriers were to allow incomming people a bit of space, and a chance to aclimatise for a few secs.
Oh, Son says the JQ flight was comfortable, and they both filled up with food in the new QP at T2 NRT before boarding, so were saited until we pulled into a Servo for breakie on the way back to S/S/Coast.

Cheers Dee.

As far as i'm aware, that's only a temporary measure while the rest of the extensions/renovations are completed, at which point it will change, though i'm happy to be corrected if i'm incorrect.

I didn't have a problem with it when I flew back from Fiji earlier in the year, it's OOL so I didn't expect much to begin with, though it was perfectly adequate, though accept it isn't the best welcome for a first time tourist.

Hopefully when the airport extensions are completed it will be worth the short term inconvenience...part of the joy of extending and renovating an existing terminal instead of building a new one.
