First F flights booked....

The shower's listed max capacity is 2. I'm just sayin.... bwhahaha

(yeah, no...)

It's a pity the BNE F (QF) lounge is so poor but other than that I'm sure you'll enjoy the experiences.

I recommend ex-AKL the special canapes that are designed to go with the DP Rose only (they don't come unless you order that). Really yummy.

And AP, you know, if you wanted more Champagne, all one has to do is ask.... *smh*

Brisbane EK lounge is quite good but important note: they have dropped the DOM Rosé! Most disappointing! But there's always Henassay Paradis.

RichardMEL, the camera did you use to take the photos, was it a digital or a mobile phone.
Great photos, very clear.
I don't want to make the same mistake, and won't be using my ipod to do photos again.
Mr_Orange, I did the cider as part of breakfast on the way to AKL in the MEL QF F lounge.
Only one glass of course.
And the domestic lounges make a fuss about RSA, where in the AKL EK lounge, you can take as many 355ml bottles of cider or beer from the mini fridges!

Cheaper to purchase IMHO. Some amazing sale fares out there from time to time
Funny how one-way airfares are more expensive on that route.

Oh JohnK. Its like comparing hessian with silk.
Pretty much the same in my book. I can do 3 one-ways in economy or 1 one-way in First that I will forget in a few months. Why waste the points?

No. Just no.

Whilst I share the sentiment, The flights there I'll need to polish a couple of presentations, and I have heaps of other business development activities that normal work hours + (in trouble doing work at home time) cannot cover.

Who knows maybe the sparkling will improve the efforts :p

So a week out from my first F trip and I'm getting giddy at booking the Complimentary car and to pre-select meals. Awaiting the email as has occured when in J previously...but no email. Check the QF website only to D'OH..

F don't pre-select nothing, its all on board! and no QC for Dallas, only on flights via Dubai.

But the "man" isn't going to ruin my experience with such defiance..

Groan. Too much like MrP for my liking. In our mid year jaunts it wouldn't disappoint me to be in seats not together as he works and I feel somewhat guilty at drinking and enjoying.

Thanks. Samsung Galaxy Note4 (ie: phone or "phablet" if you will)

Australia domestic does not equate to International or NZ International specially.

Domestic lounges are covered by the service laws of the state they are in. International (in oz) are considered differently; technically they're "outside" the state they're in.

While I do not know for certain I am sure NZ Koru Clubs at NZ domestic terminals have similar liquor laws to domestic Australia.

So glad you enjoyed your cider :) I'm pretty sure is one fell over drunk in the EK lounge (even in AKL) certain measures would be taken. And you sure as heck wouldn't want to overindulge in DXB. Just sayin'

Sadly the days of chauffeur drive being offered for LAX/DFW bound flights are long gone. I think 2013? they wound up? Disappointing for sure!! They're only offering it on the DXB/LHR run to match EK's offering.

Of course there was a time, long ago, when you could get CD from EK on the trans-tasman sectors. I did it once and it was so nice. A real treat. Highly expensive for EK of course.

I've often puzzled why Eat on Q(or whatever it's called) won't allow pre-selection for First specially when they offer it for J (certainly out of the USA and I think out of oz too). You'd have thought, specially ex-SYD/MEL QF could offer a SQ-style "Book the Cook" option with another 20 Neil Perry disappointments on offer to make the F experience that much more exclusive. Alas.... :(

When I booked, I got all excited about CD and looked into how to book it and then found that it wasn't available TT. Boo! I understand why they don't offer it though.

I think they could still offer it to paid F pax (rather than F and J).. given the numbers of F pax who would just be doing trans-tasman can't be that many (mostly us types :) ) compared to those flying further via DXB (who would get CD) but I suppose it would be confusing and a PITA to administer an exception in a single marketplace like that.

I go all class and use the skybus :)

Our EY AUH-JFK left at 3am so by the time the chef had made my meal and a few champers it was 5am or so. By 6am I had a little heartburn. I know I shouldn't have eaten so much but it was soooo good. The chef suggested the Hennesey, which I was apprehensive about as I had never had cognac before and it was 6am. Oh my god, it was so good and burned through the acid. He said he had recommended it to many people after breakfast and it always worked wonders. I suggested to the missus that I should incorporate that into my daily routine but it didn't go down real well. :(

I have my first F experience in six days on QF7. Very looking forward to it :) Now..whether to get much work done onboard or not...

Ok so did this earlier today, in F, very light load. I'm going to against the grain on this thread and think that whilst F was nice, the crew were awesome acertainly the seat space and the privacy of the cabin + Toilets was fantastic. I'm not sure I thought the overall experience was that much better than it is as a WP(*) flying QF J.

This trip was an F-Saver - the same as J anyhow, so if its priced like that again I'll be happy to fly F, but otherwise for me, J is good enough. But I'm glad I did it either way.

(*) I specify WP as this would grant F-Lounge Access, I am only SG now, so only got in through the paid ticket.
