First experience with QF "Priority" baggage.

just to update this thread more than 12 months since first started nothing has changed. Back from overseas on QF J few days ago at MEL, priority J tag meant nothing. Didn't have high expectation in the first place given past experiences and I was right again this time around....luggage came out late again. . Should the blame be on QF or the airport baggage handlers i wonder. I also have this theory that by checking in too early will result in late arrival of bags at the destination.

I think it is just MEL Intl to be honest, I always have baggage delays when arriving into MEL intl. Hence why I often choose to go via SYD, in my experience, faster immigration, security and baggage!

My bags have usually come off fairly promptly at MEL .... I certainly haven't thought priority wasn't being attempted to be observed. Certainly recent flights when getting to the claim as the bags start to drop all the bags have priority tags as opposed to mixed in randomly at the start.
