First Class Perks

People tend to buy the cheapest fare and don't read terms and conditions or research what the best value for money is. Not my fault that they're lazy.

This is a pretty silly article. In what way do passengers on the cheapest economy tickets subsidise the perks of those who've paid 10x as much to fly in First class?

This sort of thing gives me a sense of deja vu - same again stuff.

"Pretty silly" ?? You are far too kind. It is the usual sort of absolute drivel that a certain kind of lazy journalist uses because it sells to all those poor sods in the back :)

Indeed. I was trying to be civil in my criticism. ;)

This same author has written articles advising people not to participate in frequent flyer programs. Such as this one: http://www.usatoday.com/story/trave...t-frequent-flier-rewards-often-arent/2641121/

...where he says:
Everyone should not participate in a rewards program. Question your loyalties now, before you're too invested. And unless you're prepared to offer a travel company even more money for the same limited and elusive perks, get ready to board your flight with the rest of us in Zone 5, and take your seat in the back of the plane — next to me.

He's just jealous. And having read a couple other things he's written, they all smack of class warfare. I would put money on the fact that he probably makes more money than me, but I'll be the one flying around the world in F next year.

What utter drivel. How do people even get through this rubbish.

Just an idiot author appealing to the same slovenly gutter dwellers who on $40k a year think they're subsidising services and infrastructure for those on $300k a year who actually pay net taxes.

Excuse me, but I pay net taxes and my taxable income was under $40k last financial year. Still hasn't stopped me flying F though ;)

Bollocks. It's just an add for Delta in Fortune magazine or as others have noted class warfare from an American. (? In fortune magazine) Heavans.

Given I pay for all our F flights with post-tax money, while he seems to like to use the same plane at 1/10 the cost or probably in F/J on freebies from the mag or airline, I won't be rushing to read more of his work.
