If you have a small family travelling on a mixture of first class and business class fares will the kids with business be able to join the parent in the first class lounge, or will everyone be split, or relegated to business? Cheers.

It will most likely depend on you status and which alliance you fly with. We travel as a party of 3 and always in the same class. As an example in the OW alliance the carriers view children as guests based on ages which all differ. If you are traveling QF and wanting access to the QF F lounge, there is a slightly different rule set. QF will use use the OW access rules when travelling with another OW carrier. I can not speak for other alliances.

If you provide a little more detail there may be better advice

Thanks Matt. So due to availability we were only able to book two first class tickets, with our child and mother in law in business. So I was just wondering what happens at checkin for example-can the MIL and child come with us through the exclusive first class check in and then to the lounge or will we be separated?

I really don't want to be split up obviously. As far as status I'm only Virgin platinum.

First class passengers are permitted to bring one guest with them into the First class lounge. This does not extend to the Private Room at Changi. If you have guests, you will be able to join them in the standard first class lounge rather than the Private room.

You can all use the first class check in.

And this isn't even a loss, the first class lounge is a more enjoyable place to spend time than The Private Room (IMO)
