I broke with tradition and booked a Jetstar flight from Gold Coast to Narita. My youngest son was finishing school and did not want to do the "schoolies" thing but wanted to go overseas, so Japan it was, and as a bonus on the Dreamliner. I have never flown internationally out of the Gold Coast, so expectations were not high, luckily. A walk to the aircraft and seated in exit row 44. (Sorry no photos). My wife sat on the window side and even though the slide on the inner side of the door protruded, the leg room was ample. The crew all appeared to be Japanese, as were the majority of the passengers. We pre ordered a meal, and selected beef, but were given an option at meal time. My son and wife both commented this was the best Y meal that they had ever had. Very tasty and my son commented it was the first aircraft meal he had completely finished. We had our own iPads so no entertainment booked. The service was good, I chose to go for a walk and order my drinks direct from the galley, rather than push the call button which everyone else appeared to delight in doing. Drinks were not expensive and served promptly. The comfort level for Y was good, and the aircraft was very quiet. The cabin was very spacious, and I loved the auto dimmed window shades. Even though the auto announcements were to turn off electronic devices, the crew informed everyone they could be used gate to gate. The flight appeared to go very quickly and smoothly. Looking forward to the return flight on Wednesday night.

After a few days of rain, and the days we had pre booked DisneyLand and DisneySea, the high wind and rain cleared the sky's. Disney was very disappointing, and as others have commented on here, it is just not the same as USA disney. I found it catered for locals, and not tourists. I did not relative how much I enjoyed the shops at the exit of rides in disney until they are not there. The overall merchandising was appalling. Went on a few rides and left disappointed. Well, I can say I have done it, and ticked off bucket list.ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1417394219.154713.jpgImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1417394240.587324.jpgImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1417394275.273489.jpg

Day 5 and the heavy wind and rain had cleared the sky's so a view from the government tower to Mt Fuji was possible. ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1417394409.591430.jpg

What day was this? I'm currently in Tokyo (leaving tomorrow) and haven't yet seen Mt Fuji. I've been up both the Tokyo Tower and Sky Tree but it's been too foggy/hazey.

This photo was taken last Thursday. (27 November)

PaulST, today is clear enough to see Mt Fuji. I am currently on the Shinkansen to Nagano and this was taken from the train. We left TokyoImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1417474118.177476.jpg about 30 minutes ago.

Thanks for that. I'm catching a train to Kawaguchiko (today so hopefully it stays clear.) :)
