Finnair Gold / QF Gold Status Match

Hi all, I have understood that Cathay Gold can be quite easily matched with Qantas FF Gold but has anyone succeeded in matching Finnair or BA statuses with Qantas? Cheers! Sam

I don't think you'll find it easy to match to Qantas Gold (or any other level)... but don't let that stop you from earning the status by flying, remembering you can use the Cathay, Finnair or BA status to continue enjoying priority check-in, boarding and lounge access, as you earn your status with Qantas

Just looked at that site. Firstly I looked in the Qantas page and found no instances of someone matching from another program to Qantas. I then checked the CX page and found three instances where the QF status was matched by CX. There were no instances (quick review) of people matched to QF based on CX status (there were examples of CX status being used to get status elsewhere).

I don't see any matches TO Qantas on that site, Qantas Status Match

Additionally, Finnair isn't listed, and no BA to Qantas matches either. In fact, I don't think there's a single match on that site TO Qantas, but plenty from. There's always offers floating around from airlines who want more members

As I said above, if you have status within OneWorld already, say Finnair, you can continue to use those OneWorld benefits, while crediting to another program, such as Qantas. If you're flying enough, you'll get Qantas Gold before your Finnair Gold runs out

Personally, depending how far along you are in Finnair, I'd continue aiming for Lifetime
