Hi my wife and I has just travelled to the UK. The journey involved Qantas from Brisbane to Singapore then onwards with Finnair to Helsinki and finally to Heathrow -London. The poor weather the night before was some concern due to several creek crossings to exit our property. Arriving at Brisbane International four hours early.
The check in process was first a make shift desk with two staff members checking passport and vaccinaction certificate.Moving on the to official check in bag drop counter. Again passports checked and vaccinations certificates ask for ,I explained these had been checked at the table so a second sighting was not needed. The boarding passes issued, except the last legs but was told to go to Finnair lounge and we would be issued those there.
Brisbane International was virtually deserted shops and restaurants empty. The Qantas lounge was busy. Clean, great coffee and good selection of breakfast was available.
The flight to Singapore was with a A330 .The staff were helpful attentive and professional. Ours seats were in number 1 row ,lay flat, very comfortable.
The Qantas lounge in Singapore was as amazing, the staff polite and wanted to help and made sure one felt relaxed, showers beautiful and clean. The Finnair flight was on a A330,the seats were the new design, extremely comfortable.Would definately recommend. My advice would be keep well back from the front ,at least two to three rows. The toilet is extremely close and quite honestly if you were sitting there it would be horrendous. Middle-row passengers look straight into the toilets. All seats in this vicinity would be affected. On arrival in Helsinki we made our way to the Finnair lounge and explained we were told to pick up our boarding passes. Not the case, they do not have this service and we were directed to the transit office did not open to after our flight took off. When't back to the lounge would not help. Hung around the transfer office and luckily a Finnair staff member showed up she told us to go to the check in gate. Luckily someone was there and tickets printed. So be aware if given the same advice by Qantas.Left no time for showers ,the Finnair lounge was spacious clean and good food selection. No coffee barista just pre made jugged. The flight to
Heathrow was good ,same brilliant service. All passengers luggage turned up extremely late, close to an hour ,something to think about if arrangements
were on a time schedule.
