Final flights for the B767

Most Pilots are being redeployed and re certified within the company, predominantly on the 737-800, in comparable roles.

Cabin Crew just continue as normal, with one less aircraft type to worry about (domestic crews rated on B737, A330 and B767.) This number has come down substantially this year with the retiring of both the 734s and the RR 767s.

Where do you have this information from, slc767338?

As far as I have heard some of been offered redundancy packages with the rest taking up SO positions on the 380, despite maintaining salary and conditions.

I spoke with a 763 pilot the other week, he is going elsewhere and taking redundancy. The SO was going to the A380 starting Feb/March next year.

Having no interest in cricket, I had no idea.

Oh well, my mother and I need to travel at that time on that day so easy come, easy go.

That is the only reason the 767 was operating, plus operating to the likes of Hobart and Canberra.

The information comes direct from 767 crew.
What you have heard is correct, but does not speak for everyone. Different people have been offered different options. Depending what their needs/wants they can take one of a variety of options on offer.

Some have taken redundancy, some redeployment on various aircraft types - by no means limited to the A380 or 737. Taking a few years 'unpaid leave' and going elsewhere for a few years (the idea being they have a job in return to Australia) is also not unheard of.

Only one week to go until my last 767 flight to Adelaide - QF686. Don't have any travel plans between MEL and SYD over Christmas and New Year
Believe I will miss Jessica Tam, (again) unless I pop into the QF lounge on my arrival. ;);)

Cute :)
They also changed my allocated seat (it's still a J window so all is not lost :D )

Lucky!

Given the flight change the seat-map would have reset.

If you wanted to re-choose your desired seat, you would have to go in and do it again. Provided its still available.

I also had my window seat moved.... From the exit row to row 43

Thankfully it was able to be changed back by BC as I couldn't access seat selection for some reason.

Incorrect.

People have been moved largely depending upon their seniority. Some 767 Captains have gone to the same role on 737 and 330, with a very few getting those positions on the 747 and 380. Some are taking a demotion to 380 FO. 767 FOs were, in general, not very senior, so fewer are able to access same rank positions.

747 Captains and FOs have had more ability to keep their same rank, with quite a few coming to the 380.

Redundancy packages were offered to the 747 and 767 crews, and were mostly taken by 747 people.

Nobody gets to change rank or type and keep previous salary and conditions.

Now my booking says call your travel agent to acknowledge this change. My ticket was a BA award ticket so having this second change to a flight likely means ill have to call BA again. Not happy

Very strange as we are on one booking and mine didn't change.

Would anyone know if there are any J window seats left? As i'm a Bronze FF i'm unable to see the availability of the J cabin until T-80 :(

Many Thanks.

Your FF status has no bearing over your ability to see the seatmap. Online seat pre-selection is complimentary to all passengers on domestic services.

The issue is that when a certain percentage of seats are allocated the online seat map will be closed off (possibly based on status). At this stage 22 of the 30 seats in J are allocated, with no window seats available.

Last I looked (which isn't recently) there was at least one up the front but only a P1 would be able to select that seat ;)

Edit: Just opened EF and there's no window seats in J left. You've got 1F, 2EF, 3BJ, 4B & 5BJ.

Guess I took my last flight on Sunday. 24F too. Which wasn't a bad spot to spend the hour + we were sitting while the apron was closed.

Gonna miss those old birds.

I wouldn't mind 5BJ on a flight.

Well, BAD NEWS for the MEL-ADL last 767 flight.
Has now been changed to a 737. QF683 and QF686.
Cant express how sad I am as this was my last ever QF 767 flight. :(
All I can hope for is that they change my Thursday flights from MEL - SYD from an A330 to a 767.
Not likely....!!!
