Well, that was a new one.
I put my carry on liquids and gels in one of the outer zipped compartments for easy access to put in the tray at security x-ray.
At Nadi, I nearly forgot them and just threw in a couple of items into the tray as it was disappearing into the machine.
Out the other side of the x-ray, sweet thing says that they need to go into a plastic bag.
Ummm ... I was going to put them back in my bag, I said.
No, they need to go in a plastic bag, she insisted. Not to go back through the x ray machine, just to carry them hereonin. She said I could buy a bag for $1 if I went back into the terminal.
Well, I wasn't going to re-queue for security for the sake of a plastic bag. I said I'd just dump them (were a nearly finished mini deodorant and a half used mini sunscreen). She was completely thrown by this ( I can understand that she thought I was being a bit careless with my things) but eventually took them and put them in the bin.
Lucky I didn't have time to put the other LAGs into the tray!
On the other hand, full marks to Fiji immigration people. Instead if dicking through the passport looking for a space, it was BAM! a well inked stamp right over a couple if others, both coming and going. Very space efficient for a passport that's getting chokkers.
