Hi everyone, I'm heading to Fiji in October for a while and (before I found this forum) I booked with Fiji airways because it was the cheapest.
Now I'm wondering if there are any tips/upgrades anyone knows of that might help with Qantas points/status since they're partners...

Other than earning points in the Qantas program (which, depending on class of service, can halve from 1 September 2015 -https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/partners/airline/fiji-airways#earning-points ), you may be offered the chance to upgrade for cash at the airport depending on loads in business class.

I'm not sure if these paid upgrades earn at the base fare (pre-upgrade), or at the upgraded cabin rate, but I suspect the former. Still, might be worth it if the price is right (I think from memory they are in the $300-400 range, one way).
