This is actually really fascinating. There's not many flights directly between South East Asia and the Pacific Islands. Most notable ones are probably the island hopping services operated by United (former Continental Micronesia) from MNL (and others) to GUM (and others). As said in the article, it does give another option for Europeans.

Strangely also gives another way, indirectly, to access North America, since FJ also flies there. Not sure how much through fares would cost though, plus redemptions could be a bit of an issue.

I don't know how the market will hold up on this one, but it is quite a fascinating route if anything.
 
HKG-NAN is apparently doing very well with the Chinese market, so FJ probably thought SIN was worth a shot too. They really seem to be going from strength to strength. I hope this is purchasable as a QF codeshare!
