I'm flying with Fiji Airways next week and was invited to bid for an upgrade using their Bula Bid system. Went on to have a look at the minimum bids required and they seem a bit high:

I won't take up their offer but thought some people on this forum might be interested to see how it works and what kinds of prices FJ is asking.

My view is they're both day flights and if you get a shadow then that would suffice (for me). I paid $A1k to UG on a daylight from SIN-MEL on TK and felt that was reasonable value on a 359. FJ361 is an older 332, albeit a longer flight, but at $1.5k it is very much borderline territory and would depend on how I was feeling at check-in - which may make it too late for an UG at that point.

Agree that it's not worth it at those prices for daytime flights. If I was flying overnight (e.g. to/from North America) I might consider it.

I'd be interested to know what kind of bid ranges others have been offered on Fiji Airways.

If I am offered a bid, I always bid low because they want to offload the seat. A higher bid than the lowest means you're possibly just bidding against yourself.

When i flew in feb last year, it was only around 400FJD and got the upgrade for 2 people. That is a bit steep for a 4 hours day time flight
