FF Points expire?

Was flicking through the QF website and see that QF FF points now expire if there is no earn or use of points for 18 months. Doesn't currently affect me, but how long has that been going on?

That has been going on for a number of years. The previous inactivity period was 3 years, Qantas made a fairly big effort to notify members when they changed policy over.

I'm in Perth, still early in the night here.

A quick tip for those with a lack of activity is that using the Qantas toolbar is a quick way of keeping the account active.

I'm confused? What is the qantas toolbar please?
 
Not that I ever have this problem, but I had always assumed that was through flights only might want to check if it matter

No - it is through activity. Earning a single point is considered activity.
