FF one way on Ethiad; pay return Emirates? Advice please

We are wondering if it is cost effective to use our points on Ethiad (business or first) one way Syd - Abu Dhabi - Muscat - Barcelona - Casablanca; then pay for the return Marrakech - Dubai - Sydney?

Two people travelling.
All advice gratefully accepted:confused:
 
In 2011 we used a paid ticket on EY J to get us home from Milan- got a great price buying one way direct off the Etihad site during a sale.
