Ah I was hoping to do some status match with Hilton Diamond but this might do - will have to check out some cheap hotels. Of course this comes the day after I just booked three nights in Sydney - ARRRGHH

Can you leverage your UKness to get the IHG Platinum card which comes with Plat Elite status for £99/year? The points you get each year pay for it inc. the free night each year after £10k spend too.

Sadly not - I have no income according to them and I'm flying a bit under the radar but I have some trips coming up in NZ so I'll have a hunt around

I've never been asked for proof! Although 3 years plus on the electoral roll more so helps I'd say.

So I just checked and it appears the status match from HH Diamond to IHG is for UK and US members only. Anybody had any luck matching with an Australian address. If not I guess I'll just have to appear like i'm in the UK again - it's a fair deal - I use his address and I take him Fruchocs whenever I visit and he thinks he gets the best part of the deal

Happy to get in on that rouse ;)

BTW that match is different to this challenge.

The link in your original post doesn’t work. Would you mind checking it for me please. Bedtime cos removalists at 7.30 :(:(

Sign is gone from the counter at the hotel here so might have ended. I have another one, remind me to check when I get back to the hotel...

@Flashback, did you happen to spot anything current about this offer? I'd love to join it, too, and tried to google IHG elite fast track but to no avail (the only links coming up related to US corporations or Chinese credit cards). Or I might be rude enough to walk into a local Holiday Inn and ask about it...

Why bother with a challenge?$US200 and get Ambassador membership which now comes with Platinum status. The free weekend night at an IC covers the initial spend.Since having Platinum 3 out of 4 stays in suites and at the CP Changi upgraded to top floor airport view.I'm happy.

Much better experience than me as a Spire and I'm booking club rooms which is the level below a suite ...

Thanks @drron I didn't know about this - I won't have any trouble getting the 5 nights but I will look at this when it runs out

Any other hotels do similar to this?

There are some corporations that still have a valid link for this, however the one that was being posted on hotel check-in desks has expired as I guess it was being used more than they expected!
