It seems Virgin hasn't updated it's fare end dates past 31st Dec 2021.

From 1st January 2022 which are released today, "discounted" / Getaway fares aren't available, so everything is highly priced and also there are no Business Reward seats available.

I’ve just searched for some ADL-MEL fares around ANZAC Day weekend for the football and Getaway fares still available ($89) and J rewards available

If sportsbet offered decent odds on Virgin still being in business in Jan 2022 I'd take a punt on that not being the case. 11 months is an eternity in the airline world.

Totally confused and directionless at the top under Jetstar trained Ms Hardickr, and that is bad management in any climate - in this mad COVID world it is business suicide. PR B.S. by the mile from her, but no substance to any of it.

No Wi-Fi even now, and often warm white wine in plastic cups, and pie shop style sachets of ketchup for your pretzels in alleged "Business Class" even now in February, is the proof.

Made $6000 on Biden winning so am on a roll.

I backed Biden at $2.50 and 18 hours later backed Trump at $3 for the same outlay... couldn't lose.

I received a refund in points and $$ for a HND Business class award booking - so have only used points for my few Z class VA bookings since.

I do hope Bain has deep pockets ... would like to see them viable soon ...

The weird thing was sportsbet paid out on Biden bets well before the US networks had called it, but even more weirdly, they still allowed new bets.

As I recall it was at 1.3 to 1 on Biden and 10 to 1 on Trump. (My original bet was at 1.6) Maybe they were trying to balance their book by hopefully landing a lot of Redneck money on Trump - who knows. Bookies always have reasons.

So I took a few $1000 of the winnings, and put it on Biden again. And was paid out in days once again, and made another $1000. Very odd. Was like a surreal movie.

This flutter paid for all our new Mahogany floors, and I now say to friends - you are walking on floors that Donald Trump funded - the only useful thing he did for 4 years.

Anyway back to Virgin - lets all hope they make it, but with these dithering Bozos in change, I'd be happy to bet against it. No plan, no consistency at all. No Velocity miles of note left - a million+ sitting safely in SQ, and a drawer full of Velocity Platinum cards that means little these days, so a few $1000 in the bank from a bet would at least be a positive from this directionless experiment, at least.

Maybe Rex will buy them out.

Give it a day or two. Booking that far out sometimes the correct fares aren’t loaded. Similarly for award seats.
