I've made some flight bookings on Qantas but have not been able to find out what the fare code is in the "Manage my bookings" section. Searching the forum it seems that serfty has a pretty neat script for revealing fare codes when choosing fares, but in my situation, I have already booked the fares (a few weeks ago), so is there any way of finding out what the fare code is in this situation other than calling Qantas?

Separately, has anyone come across a guide on how the booking system works? I've had several instances of watching fares, waiting and then finding that the fares have gone up, booked to avoid it going up further and then found (a day or two later) that lower fares have been reinstated / released again. I can't help but think that a better understanding of how the QF system works (for eg whether new fares are recalculated at particular times of the day/week etc) might be helpful. Just a random stab in the dark.

When you've opened your booking on Qantas you'll see the date, time, where it goes to and from, flight number etc and under that is a button called "more flight info"... click that and you'll see your travel class with a letter in brackets after economy/business/whatever you booked.

Once booked finding the fare codes is very easy. View your bookings. The fare codes are listed in the details section, in brackets.

Ah yes - thanks very much. I'm going to get my eyes checked. I'm also slightly depressed having found out that I have a booking class in Q instead of O, and that Q JFK-SYD leg is at a higher price, which I had to choose because I missed out on the lower priced O class fare (having only just learnt all about classes on AFF forums today). Oh, and the lower class O fare has now become available again. FML.
