Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

I was on a very "comedic" flight MEL-SYD on Saturday morning...saw Magda Szubanski walk past me, followed not long after by Shane Jacobsen! Interestingly, I think they were both in Y...didn't spot them in J.

I hope for Magda's sake that she had a shadow in the seat next to her! :D Although I hear she has slimmed down a bit.

Grant Denyer on a flight from Syd to Bne last night. Sat in about row 8. He is short!

Merrick Watts on same flight. I was in the line behind Merrick Watts and when we got to the scanner to board he had to fumble around in his wallet for his WP card. Confirmed my suspicion the guy is hopeless - how do you not have your card out. He would be one of those people at the checkout at Coles or Wollies who would have their items scanned for 5 mins and then decide they need to get their card out and swipe it ... Useless.

Well finally saw someone I recognised last night going up the escalators presumably to the MEL CL-Christine Milne.

The Adelaide Thunderbirds in SYD on Sunday.

Most were eating at Wok on Air while a couple of them were getting into Qantas Lounge. Carla Borrego at 193cms looks like a giant up close.

On one of my flights yesterday.

Alan Jones. Plenty of whispering from people walking past. "Oh that's Alan", "Is that Alan" etc.
Didn't see anyone recognise the other famous person on my flight ... Go Harvey, Go Harvey Go! (plus his wife - I believe, have seen pictures of her before).

All were in J.

Peter Costello in 20K in J on SQ228 MEL-SIN today = told me he was on way to Berlin - his wife seated behind in 21K.

Only in J? The post parliament junkets for ex Treasurers don't get him right up front in F?

Dipper..
and Jason Coleman (???????I think) of reality fame (I don't watch it) with me in row 1 from BNE. I think.

Not flying but relaxing at the end of an 8 leg marathon SC run, I had my picture taken tonight with Penn Jillette after seeing the Penn&Teller show at Rio. Too shy to post my picture but a very entertaining show and terrific crowd rapport :)
Enough of the relaxing for me tomorrow as I take my inaugural AA coach flight (LAS-LAX) followed by F in the 3 class transcon to JFK, will be on the lookout for more celebs ;)

Wonder if it was a last minute booking if he & his wife couldn't get seats together or was he sitting next to someone else they were travelling with or did someone stuff up & not bother to pre-allocate seats for them?

I met Dipper a couple of years ago in DRW & he was saying that he often gets mistaken for cricketer Merv Hughes & when he walks into a restaurant people have been known to say "gday Merv, have anything you want off the menu ie on the house"!

Now that would be a golden opportunity to say DYKWIA would it not!

He looked in great condition and of course as cheery as ever! Mind you he performs pretty well with a bunch of fractured ribs and pneumothorax too.

Did you also happen to note him in a hat and sunglasses playing the bass with the piano during the pre show music? :)

SQ 380 is 1 2 1 config in J - I had 20D / Cruiserette 20F - PC in 20K / his wife 21K.

I did not want to annoy him too much and interrogate him - I told him we were off to BCN - commented ah Spain one of the BAC's - broke coughd countries.

 No ! In my defence I was sitting in the second row front stage right, directly beneath the Grand Piano and couldn't see the bass player ;)

Was very incognito. My friend I was there with said 'hrm I 'm pretty sure Penn plays Bass, and he looks a little shady up there (ie, hat and shades). When he stood up 15 minutes before the show started, and i saw a tall big guy I knew it was him (I have pictures of him, Teller and me on my FB page; about the only pics of me known to man!). My friend is a friend with their friends so I got a bit of a chat with them. Really nice guys (and hearing Teller talk is just strange!).

Kevin rudd and his staffers were in the Virgin Brisbane lounge earlier.
