Family Reward Booking

Has anyone been able to obtain a family reward booking within 6months or are they strict on the 6month rule....? looking at MEL to BNE with plenty of availability of reward allocation in OCT....

Some parts of Au have school holidays in Oct, maybe VA will not do blackouts, but it might.
Depends on if you want J or Y reward flights and how many pax.
Not that I have done it, as I am always a single flyer.

They're strict on the 6 months thing if you're trying to use the Gold/Platinum reward seat benefit. But you would only need to do that if there's no regular award availability (and you've said there is availability).
