Hi
I've had my family pooling to me (husband and son) and the pooling to my account is changed depending on who is flying at the time.

My daughter decided to pool to me for her upcoming trip and when she logged into her VFF account to set up pooling to my account, when she reached the step where she had to confirm that her points and Status Credits will be pooled to her nominated eligible family member (being myself) a message appeared as follows:

'Contributing members of a family pool may be changed a maximum of five times per calendar year'
I looked back at my activity from Jan 2018 to now and my husband and son have both pooled to myself with the pooling setup being swapped around after each flight has been taken.

Can anybody shed some light on why the pooling from my daughter is not being allowed to myself as I don't understand the 'maximum of five times per calendar year' when I have read on this forum that swapping eligible members around for pooling appears to be unlimited
PS. Son and daughter both over 18

Thanks

If you belive you have complied with the T&C's of Velocity in specific reference to the parts relating to family pooling then call and ask about it.

Other than that, consider this ....

Maybe 2 years ago, Velocity blocked the accounts of many members who had been regularly swapping pooling members in and out. They generally asked for the members so affected to provide proof of eligibility (Same residential address etc.).

They then canceled many of those accounts where the members failed to provide such proof to the satisfaction of Velocity.

I belive many 100's of thousands of points were forfeited at that time.

Well reading Bulletin Boards, and reading Virgin's Clear Rules as linked to by Ross often do not agree -

14.3 A maximum of two Members of the Family Pool may be 18 years or over in age.

As far as I remember this has always been the case: maximum of two members over 18 (simultaneously). Hence the need to swap family members if one happens to have kids over 18.

I agree with being able to swap out family members aged over 18
According to VFF family pooling T&C 14.7 Once a Contributing Account has nominated a new Beneficiary Account, there are no restrictions on the number of times that Contributing Account may be added to, or removed from the Beneficiary Account.

I was just reading the tale of wifes and kids, your and old and other relatives all being part of the SC earning mix.

I am glad there ARE sensible rules or half the country would have status!
