HI all

Am trying to plan our first ever [decent] family holiday overseas and am looking at a couple of weeks in asia.

have pretty much settled on thailand (not too stressed about the current unrest), and maybe malaysia (the luxryescapes deal for the Avani Sepang looks pretty tempting if i can make the dates work )

Biggest challenge I have had is trying to find resorts in thailand that offer a really good kids club. A lot of them say they have one, but offer very little detail about what is actually offered, and given my kids are a little older (8 & 11) it would be nice for them to have some activities that are appropriate for their age group - and maybe even get them out into the local communities.

Does anybody have any knowledge of resorts/hotels that really go above in beyond in keeping the kids occupied. wont be all day/every day, but a day or two so we dont have to drag them around the shops would be good for both them & us!!!

Looking at last week of august/first week of september

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

We've just done an exhaustive search for the same thing.
We ended up going with Le Meridien coughet, but that is because we have young kids and can't risk them drowning in a pool villa.
Your kids are old enough you could get a pool villa and that opens up your options tremendously.
You can get an idea of which resorts have a kids club by clicking that option on wotif and then search the hotel websites directly
