Family access to British Airways Lounges Heathrow

Have always found it useful to ask a fellow passenger whom
seems to be able to guest one child in. The lounge gatekeepers relent fairly quickly once you have asked one other PAX.

maybe not for status travellers, but under class of service our kids entered F BA lounges at Heathrow in 1989, 1993 1998 and 1999. The only BA lounge I could not enter with children was in Paris.
That's why I was specific about 'Terraces'.

International/non Europe was different. The four of us, for example, had no issues accessing the gate 10 Concorde room at LHR T4 before our flight home on QF2.

This BA policy seems quite mean-spirited and reeks of cost-cutting.

I recall when travelling as a child that Qantas and various other airlines had no issues letting the whole family into the lounge.

They had terraces then? I don't remember the term until much later? but then I didn't take much notice a lounge was just a lounge - it was only when I joined this board that I realised there were nuances.... However I never had any problems with entering any BA lounges, including Gatwick, except Paris, where children were totally unwelcome. (and we were travelling paid club Europe).
