The article which I raised here is finally up – and the timing is ironic, just after Qantas ended its 2SC promo!

Thanks to the AFFers who shared their thoughts on status runs, both here and via PM/email; and hopefully those with concerns about this article will, having read it, feel a tad more at ease about the treatment and better understand what I originally set out to do.

Nice balanced story David. To people who don't understand how status works they can make it seem like a we are crazy. I would have added something about how "Platinum status can get you access to First Class Lounges with free luxury food, drinks and even spa treatments even when you are flying the cheapest of cheap tickets. Something that those First Class passengers accessed on a ticket up to 17 times the cost."

With a little bit of planning, and only making decisions that suit you or sometimes are even cheaper (why fly direct when you can connect) you can unlock benefits for travel you would have been doing anywa
