I noticed on the RAAF Facebook page that a couple of F18's will be using BNE for training from 2PM today
Super Hornets conduct diversion training at Brisbane International Airport this Wednesday
Two F/A-18F Super Hornets will conduct necessary diversion training at Brisbane International Airport on Wednesday 16 January from 2.00pm.
The Super Hornets from Number 1 and 6 Squadrons at RAAF Base Amberley, near Ipswich, will conduct circuit training including a ‘touch and go’ at Brisbane International Airport that is planned to conclude at 3.30pm.
The flights are an essential part of pilot continuation training on the F/A-18F Super Hornets as Brisbane International Airport is one of the main diversion airfields should RAAF Base Amberley be unusable due to weather.
Members of the public should note these dates and times are subject to change.
Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in planning for and the conduct of military activity; and Air Force appreciates the support it receives from the Brisbane community during training activities such as this.
