F saver from Europe to Australia: is it worth it?

Just looking at the SQ inventory for 2026, for the time I hope to be traveling, the rarest of hens teeth has popped up: an F saver (not suites) redemption from LHR-SIN-MEL.

The SIN-MEL leg is on SQ217. There is an overnight (~ 13 hour) layover in SIN.

I have not flown SQ in F since 2013, mostly because there have never since then been any available saver F awards.

Questions:

1) Is the points premium over a business class redemption worth it?
2) Does this entitle you to use a bed at TPR in SIN for the overnight layover?
3) Are the FLounges in LHR and SIN worth a visit?
4) Is there a significant chance that the second leg, to MEL, gets downgraded to business class due to aircraft swapping; and in that case, is access to the TPR lost, and would there be any compensation in points refunded?

Would appreciate opinions as I need to book fairly fast.
I booked ZRH-SIN-MEL in F saver for this August. Just flew the first leg. IMO - a total bargain, for 50k points for the 24 hours of so. The food and drinks IMO are significantly better, service super personalised and with 2 ppl in F I basically had the entire left bathroom to myself. Entertained in 1A and slept in 1C 😎 A nap in TPR and now enjoying the a al carte food. Def worth the premium.

Like you I was worried about an a350 downgrade on SQ217 but they kept the 777 for several weeks from mid July and only removed the 777 in the early part of european summer for some reason (as well as immediately after august)? Was a total gamble when I booked but it paid off :)
