We have booked J on SQ as a saver award from SIN to SYD (A380 leaving at 1100). Saver award is avail in F for same flight, 20K more (less 15% each). Anyone with SQ experience have an opinion if this would be 40K KF miles (transferred from Velocity) well spent? We do have Suites booked on our return from Europe (LHR-SIN-SYD). I say Suites baby! My partner says, J is "fine". :)

I think that daytime flight is as good a time as any to enjoy Suites (and the lounge beforehand)... the more the merrier.

The author of this trip report asked a similar question a little while back.

I think the answer was an overwhelming "yes" :)

Thanks. I "won" the battle earlier, and changed the reward booking from J to F, so we now have 3 sectors in SQ Suites, and 1 in QR J on the a350 (so something new for us). 34,000 miles to upgrade two from J to F is a no-brainer for me, but my partner asked "don't we want to experience SQ J?". Nope.

On a side note, for both directions of our trip, I booked on the phone and not online, and SQ still gave me the 15% discount for all bookings. The flights we wanted were waitlisted from LHR - SIN - SYD, they waitlisted us, processed our request to clear the waitlist, and then released the reward seats and confirmed our booking in under an hour. I found the redemption centre staff very helpful, but the commercial booking staff try to be gatekeepers and take your number for redemptions to call you back in 24 hours. I always politely asked if I could hold instead. It's a funny little process, but I think will be worth it!

The true test is when the words "Y is fine" are muttered.

bit late to the party but i think you mean the 11am from SYD to SIN? if so, no TPR and i wouldn't say the F lounge in SYD is significantly better than the J side. as mentioned above though, given it's a day flight can imbibe til your heart's content and then have a snooze in the double bed.

coming back on the overnights i reckon J is sufficient imo.
