Calendar wide open for dates from Feb 2016 onward for both routes. Get in quick, I don't expect this opportunity will last very long.

Wow. There is even good availability through AAdvantage (in both F and J). Great find.

I wonder why the sudden extra release of seats? A glitch due to the new AA codeshares? Or are they changing their policy to be more generous?!

Maybe all the negativity around the latest Simpler and Fairer Enhancement invoked some pity at QF - hahahaha, sif. More likely a temporary glitch.

Block releases like this are common aren't they?

Goldy you are bloody legend mate - I have 1 x F MEL-LAX mid Sep 2015 booked but could not get Cruiserette in same cabin - so also grabbed 2 x J on same flt - ret have SQ booked early Oct but after Goldy's heads up converted the 2 x J MEL-LAX to 2 x F LAX-MEL - now I'll cancel SQ and Cruiserette will be a happy little vegemite - she still has not forgiven me for 75.5hr journey MEL-SIN-NRT-LAX-LAS mid Sep this year.

Thanks again Goldy - I owe you a couple of beers mate.

Great find! I was able to change a F award for next June from LAX-SYD-MEL to a direct LAX-MEL.

Thanks Gold Member :)

Have QF removed the ability to book at the same points price from another state (eg BNE-MEL-LAX) used to price at 96k points in J didnt it..?

No. BNE-MEL-LAX is a zone 9 redemption which attracts more points. You're about 300 miles beyond a zone 8 (BNE/SYD/MEL-LAX).

Any other combination involving SYD, BNE and MEL to LAX will come in at the lower points level, including BNE-SYD-LAX and SYD-MEL-LAX. But BNE-MEL-LAX pushes the mileage into the next zone.

All gone. Looks like this opened up at 4am.

I wonder if the availability was actively taken down by Qantas (which would indicate that this was an error) or whether it was all taken by people taking the opportunity to book some flights with their points?
