Hi am going to try and get a Lufthansa F award from Frankfurt to somewhere on the East coast of USA when UA release them 14 days out. August next year. I need to put a back up plan in place so am trying to predict which cities would be the most likely to have the seats. Any insights? What us travel junkies do for rubber duckies

I would have a look at what seats are being released right now for travel in 14 days' time. That might give you some sort of indication, at least.

Yes I have been doing that but its so hit and miss this year was hoping history from the past 2 to 3 might give some insight. Thanks for the advice

It's hard to say. July and August can be pretty busy months for TATL. UA and AA's own metal was pretty solidly booked, leaving only partners. LH opened up pretty much as expected at the 14 day mark, and there was good availability. ORD for example had double daily flights available in F. MUC was also wide open. You could always connect, but in July even connecting flights on UA were pretty slim pickings in the front cabin (coach was ok).
