F Award: 747 from Syd, or A380 from Melb?

It is possible though I would suggest that this far out anything may occur. I'd watch as time moves along and the new aircraft are delivered.

If you're travelling with a partner, the 747 can be a better option if you're in the E/F seats. One thing the A380 lacks is a genuine option for couples who want to travel together in F - sure you can dine together in the suite (though the jump seat does give me a sore back after an hour or so), but you can't sit together, chat or generally enjoy each other's company for the entire flight like you can in the 747.

That said, the hard product in the QF A380 is far far far far better than the 747, which is really starting to show its age these days. If you're travelling solo then I can't see any advantage in the 747 whatsoever.
