EY Sydney Lounge before VA1

For those Gold or Platinum VFF guests travelling on VA1 - what has the Etihad lounge at Sydney been like for that time? It looks like it opens for this flight from 9am - 11.30am. I haven't found any photos or reviews of what the breakfast spread looks like (or do they keep the lunch mezze buffet going and have no a la carte?)

I was there a couple of weeks ago and it was fine, plenty of space. I didn't eat so I can't say for sure about a la carte, sorry. There was definitely a buffet, and people were sitting at the tables.

It had the basics - yoghutrs, fruit, cereal etc plus a couple hot dishes buffet style - hash browns and sausages. Nothing special....no a la carte or non breakfast items.

Was there on the weekend. Small, cramped and hugely busy and noisy with no spare seats except for the a la carte section.

Food was basic hotel breakfast buffet food options (sausages, poached eggs in water bath, baked beans, yoghourt, cereals). No a la carte.

Some people were drinking champagne from the bar but that was too early for me so can't comment on the alcohol.

I was pretty unimpressed and left to go and get a decent coffee in the terminal before the flight. A definite downgrade from the NZ or SQ lounges IMHO, and I hope it's not a permanent option.
