Etihad Airways is pleased to inform you about our new offering that allows you to experience even more comfort in our Coral Economy Class.

For a small fee, you can now reserve an exit row seat that guarantees you extra legroom in Coral Economy Class. Available on a first-come first-served basis, you can reserve your exit row seat as part of a new booking made on etihad.com, through our Global Contact Center or our Retail Shops. It can also be added to existing bookings via our Global Contact Centre.

This new service is available on all Etihad operated flights. Charges to book the exit row seat vary by segment and start at USD 25. Click here for more details on eligibility for exit row seats before making your purchase.

Guess they've identified another revenue stream that most airlines found a few years ago.

Hhhhmmmm I always thought the airlines kept these seats for able bodied ppl at exit points? So my hurried exit in case of a need to rapidly leave the aircraft could be hindered by a 75 yr old of dubious health and an inability to evacuate the position quickly?

It does say you need to be healthy!

To be eligible to purchase an exit row seat:
• You should be 18 years and above.
• You should be willing to help in case of an emergency.
• You should be healthy and should be able to speak English.

Define healthy? What's reasonable health to you may not be the minimum they set ! What is the criteria ?

Agree with your point but like any exit row, at the end of the day its the airlines call of the rules that matter.

So they're also screwing Gold frequent flyers. Nice one.
