My husband and I would like to visit/stay in Alberta for 8-12 months, starting mid/late 2025.
  • Husband is Canadian Citizen, Glazier construction worker. Wishes to work in Canada to fund. Has current Canadian Passport. Currently awaiting final ceremony to become Australian Citizen. Will get Australian Passport too.
  • Wife is Australian, Teacher in Queensland. Current Australian Passport.
  • Children (x2) have proof of Canadian Citizenship currently being processed. Have current Australian passports. Will get Canadian Passport once proof of Canadian citizenship approved.
  • Have stable jobs in Australia to prove financial position and +50K savings.
Any of the below options possible / which best?
  1. Can wife enter as 'visitor' then apply for a 'visitor record' to stay an additional few months? Or apply for Visitor Record from Australia before depart. Not work.
  1. Can wife enter as visitor, return to Australia / overseas for a short time then return to Canada as a visitor for additional few months. Not work.
  1. Wife required to be sponsored by Husband (spouse) even though only wish to stay for 8-12 months in Canada? Able to work.
  1. Another suggestion?
