Departure from SYD last week, QF gave express path card but the queue was long, 30 or so pax. Is QF the only airline in SYD handling out such cards?

I got one with SQ a couple of weeks ago and have also had them with TG, VA etc.

No good to me though as I come back with golf clubs.

We were warned in MEL the other week to check the customs lanes as the express lanes can often be slower than the normal lanes.

AFAIK all F J pax on all airlines ex MEL get Express Cards.

I never use them as have APEC - I have a wad of Exprees Cards - dep and arr - if anybody wants them.

I sent an express post envelope full of them to a user here once before, never heard from them afterwards.
No big deal really, but you would think by going out of your way and doing something like this the least you would get would be a simple thank you. Ohh well.

Oh well indeed.
Someone once said to me , don't expect too much. Because people generally don't value that which they don't pay for.
The generosity shown by many on this site often goes unappreciated. The value of what you gave was not as valuable when it was received. .....sad but true.

It is I, Leclerc !

Heck even Jet* give them out. Never use them at immigration because I use Smartgate and have never found customs to be a problem so have rarely used the card there. Have a few here at home somewhere.

I use them for departure - but agree often the queue doesn't look to be that much faster - as they have so few customs officers manning the desks. I wish they protected the express security lane a bit better as well. Rarely use it inbound.

There is further delay with pax on wheelchair and accompanied pax, who jump the queue.

I do this as a general rule. Do not assume that express path is going to be quickest.

Sometimes it is quite handy coming back with golf clubs as I get the "special" treatment. Asked if I have golf shoes. Answer is no and get sent through. Other times they check golf clubs but see golf clubs are clean and wave me through.

I was handed an Express Path on my trip home overnight - no idea why I scored one. Had my headphones on when the immigration cards were being handed out, the attendant paused for a second, then handed me the express path. The bloke next to me didn't get one. I presume I just got lucky and he had a couple left over. I was back-of-the-bus economy and only PS status. I've only ever received an express path when flying business. Came in real handy though this morning - bags for our flight took forever to come out, jamming up with another couple of full flights and the customs line was a whopper. Sailed through the express lane. Nearly did a heel-clicking jump on the way out.

I can definitely use Express Cards if you can spare them ... I promise to send a nice thank you note at the very least ...

Anyone know if NZ hand them out to either *G's or VA SG's at MEL for departures?

But doesn't everybody do that on all deps? As you turn left to enter customs hall in MEL as soon as you clear the screen and head up the rise your eyes should be searching for shortest line - the clowns they have there directing traffic I am sure cannot count nor do they comprehend what the Express channel is designed for.

Cruiser Elite, I could use a few if you have spare. If so, I'll PM you. Cheers

Be careful when using express path cards when you are not entitled too.

As long as you have the card, you will always be able to use the express lane however airlines submit data to the local airport authority based on guidelines by the National Passenger Facilitation Committee and Australian Customs. Any airline that is observed to have more passengers using them than there should be run the risk of loosing the ability of handing them out.

So if your flying Airline A and use an Airline B express path that you didn't use last time, Airline B is at risk.

Or if you flew Airline C in Business and didn't need to use the card and used it while flying in Y the next trip (and not of high status), Airline C is at risk.
