Hi
I am a member of QANTAS F/F and we want to go to Copenhagen for Christmas (me, wife + 2 kids). But I can't find any flights that are even vaguely affordable. Flightcentre's best option was $2500 each.

Does anyone have any advice on where to find the cheapest tickets? At the moment, I'm more concerned with price than F/F points. It looks pretty full and very expensive to get there at all, regardless of airline.

Thanks

Geoff

Christmas is peak season - so no sales and the cheapest fares are likely already sold out (or less than 4 available).

If you don't mind splitting the family up (separate flights, or separate bookings on the same flights) it should be possible to get lower cost since only need availability 2 in the booking class instead of 4 (I'm assuming the children are not young enough to be classed as infants, ie under 2 for most airlines).

A LONE4 probably wont help since not likely to be enough availability in L class. *A RTWs in economy uses higher booking class (mostly M for 29k version) so that may be worth a try - not sure if that will come out any less though, but at least includes north america giving more holiday/stopover options.

An example.

SYD-CPH 20 Dec QF31/QF3145
CPH-SYD 7 Jan QF3430/QF302

On Zuji comes up as A$2340 per adult, A$1755 per child, A$81 discount per person, excl taxes. Has availability for 2 adults + 2 children at these rates.

Total A$10228 incl taxes.

Thank you very much for your reply Kiwi Flyer.

It's incredible how much flights have gone up in the three years since I last went to Denmark... I suppose that's the oil crisis and terrorism at work. At least I have a better idea of what I'm up against now.

Thanks again.
