@Pushka Did you get the questioning on flight arrival into BNE a few weeks ago?
I might book a flight ADL - BNE and back for Jun long weekend next year, hopefully the border rules would have changed by then, but would be interesting to see what they did on your dom flight into BNE.

Was it this trip report?

It is all in the report AP. Specifically this post:

Just prior to arrival in Cairns we were told that an officer from Federal Police would be boarding and would be advising us what to expect on arrival. We had already printed off our Entry permit, and were asked to have photo ID ready on disembarkation. This was extremely orderly and everyone except one, there is always one, remained seated until the officer had finished. Lets just say the officer dealt with 'the one' rather appropriately.

We were in Row 4 and exited quickly. We were met at the exit gate and interviewed and had to show ID and our exit permit. All very friendly given that SA border is tighter than a cat ummm, it is tight. Then we could see that no one was wearing a mask so we removed ours and moved to luggage collection. Then over to Avis to collect the car and on to Port Douglas.
