And I disagree with ozflier's opinion. If EDR ceased offering QFF points I would probably cease using the card.

And I especially disagree with status by virtue of holding a particular credit card. Whilst it may be good for a one off promotion to increase brand awareness once it becomes the norm then it devalues the benefits of earning status through BIS flying.

I can understand your concern. I would prefer to keep getting QFF points but I would like to see the playing field more equal for their use.

You will accept I hope that non QF elites get far less advantage of their earned points from WOW etc than do elites.

I do most travel with Star carriers and all out of my own wallet. I suspect that most elites get that status from employer funded travel. So its not as if most elites have got to that level under their own steam - sure there will be exceptions.

I would expect QF to extract some charge from EDR for elite priorities for some card holders which at this stage in its corporate evolution may be welcome to them.

Before EDR program, our family supermarket shopping was probably about 70/30 split between Coles and Woolies, and petrol probably 70/30 between Shell and Caltex. Since EDR started, we are probably more like 2/98 between Coles and Woolie and 100% Woolies/Caltex for petrol.

So we obviously vary our spending patterns based on perceived value from the program. Any change to the program will result in re-evaluation of the spending patterns.

Due to the dumping of the larger point earning at the bowser - I'm already pulling into BP and enjoying the faster thru-put due to smaller queues and larger number of pumps.

And, if WOW keep filling their shelves with their own brands......we'll be gone for good!

If this is all true, basically I will have no allegiance to any Supermarket/Petrol Station and my dollar will go to the lowest prices.

I must agree and I've actually managed to accrue more than 200K in points using the little orange card

No real incentive to visit CTX anymore other than it is our most convenient outlet but it does appear to be changing for the worse in the supermarkets. So many products we used to buy seemingly being replaced by the Select range. I've tried some and the quality just isn't there. I might as well go to Aldi

That's exactly what the misses said on the weekend. Went to buy some magnums and what do I see - bloody Select box that looks just like Magnums....this mob is simply IP stealing pirates!

From what I hear Aldi is at least quality. Costco is another shining light starting to rise.

In the OP, where does it say they are going to can QFF points or is there some other correspondence or notification from WW that I haven't seen yet

In the survey section of the original post there is a reference to
"Woolworths points". EDR/QFF have previously been very careful to refer
to the points system as QFF points, indicating that you can only earn
points if you belong to both loyalty programs. Some people have
misinterpreted this but I've never seen the reference to "Woolworths
points" before this.

This "woolworths points" reference may mean that QFF and EDR are
parting ways or it could mean that the QFF points will be an OPTION
rather than an automatic thing. It may mean that you can convert your
"points" to QFF points like some credit card schemes or keep the points
as Woolworths points and use them for a separate redemption system
controlled entirely by Woolworths. I am just speculating here.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

If the WES 1/2 year results (due today) show Coles still beating Woolies - EDR should get a shake up!

I think the success of the recent WOW Aussie Animal Card promo has opened some eyes.
