Is it just me or is it now that various airlines are changing their timetables for late next year.

Over the last 2 weeks a trip i have planned in August i have received notification of flight changes for all but 1 flight across QF, BA & AA over several countries. Some changes are small ie 5-10 min departure or arrival change some larger 2.5h departure change.

No major issue apart from the 4.5h layover im trying to get fixed but just seems odd all the flights i picked are changing.
Anyone else seeing the same?

I usually have dozens of forward bookings at any one time and usually receive a flight change notification once every fortnight or so. Especially for flights booked well in advance, it is fairly common that there will be some sort of change.

My most recent notification was a QF flight change email received last week that sees me departing SCL next year 24 hours later than originally booked.

I'd be more worried if I *wasn't* receiving any notifications - it could mean that the flight has changed but you haven't been informed. One particular AAirline I can think of has done this to me more times than I care to remember.

We haven't received any notifications for several QF changes. They seem to be dropping the ball lately.

I have received 3 "change" notifications of BA flights, all part of the one PNR, over the last two weeks. Funny part is that all new flights are exactly the same as the old flights!

In the past 2 weeks I have had multiple 5-10 mins changes on 3 overseas flights for next May-June-September involving QF,BA and AA

Involuntary changes are very common especially if bookings are made far in advance. Important to note the particular airline policy regarding such changes and plan connecting flights to accomodate minor timing changes that do not allow a free itinerary modification by the passenger. Mostly an airline will allow a free itinerary modification if its more than 1 hour outside original booking. Or causes a connection to fall below MCT.

My recent invol change was QF93 which was pushed forward 30 minutes resulting in a MCT of exactly 1.5 hours from my SYD-MEL flight. As it was not below MCT of 1.5 hours, I had to HUACA 131313 several times to get myself onto an earlier SYD-MEL. As it turned out (and not surprisingly) QF93 departed late.

Sometimes the changes are due to seasonal time changes such a daylight saving etc.

Some airlines won't even confirm times and aircraft type more then 3 months out...

They sometimes publish "changes" when the equipment changes even if there's no timetable differences. Always worth double checking you still have your selected seats after a change, IMO.

Yep. Good point. The only reason I'm doing strange routing is for aircraft type. Better aircraft out of LHR than CDG.

I too have just received the dreaded " flight schedule change" email this week for a inter-Europe trip booked directly with BA for departure in June next year.
The flight was a mid-priced Y class booking from SPU> LHR > BIO which should have been non refundable , but as the new flight time ex SPU does not connect with the flight to BIO ( ex LHR) on the same day, I've been able to get my full money back and rebook an entirely different journey.

Thank goodness I didn't book a LCC with a connection, that would have been $$$ down the drain.
