I side with the airline in part, because the passenger failed to check their documentation to ensure the correct name... but not spending a few minutes fixing up a problem and flat out denying boarding to arguably one of funniest comediennes of our time has to be a big PR disaster in the making for CO.

We now bring you Joan Rivers on Larry King Live, having been denied boarding on a commercial flight ex-Costa Rica after an incorrect name on her BP:

YouTube - Joan Rivers Talking Airline Security On Larry King - CNN

"She [the gate agent] was a women, and was pre-menstrual"

"She was a moron"

I'm a little surprised though that someone like Joan Rivers wouldn't at least have a credit card with her to cover yourself when you're caught short.

She didn't really get a chance to use a Credit card. The airport shut and they offered her a flight the next friday.

I'm extremely confused by what happened. wrong name on BP, but did her PA really ticket her as joseph? And what was the story about the passport? How did she get through all the early security with the wrong BP. Was she travelling with Joseph Rosenberg (who left 30 minutes earlier) and they accidentally switch BPs?

wierd

So there was a stuff up-Joseph should not have got on his flight with Joan's BP?:shock:

Seems like it’s a fault at check-in. I doubt her ticket was booked as Joseph.

Either way you look at it, the staff must have screwed up.

That interview was… really dragging on though!

Perhaps her PA booked online, hit "J" and it auto-filled, and they assumed it was "Joan" and someone named "Joseph" had had a flight booked on that computer?

"J", tab, and the flight is booked as "Joseph Rivers"? Just a possibility, but regardless. :)
