Hey all,

I'm at the EVA Air Evergreen J Lounge at the moment. I'm about to board DragonAir/Cathay flight TPE-HKG-CGK. I"m taking advantage of the Business Saver I class fares.

Firstly, it's a fairly big lounge. Around the same size as the Qantas International Business lounge in MEL. It isn't partitioned in to two distinct sections though. However, there are columns and plants around to help with privacy. As the name suggests, the style/theme of the lounge is green.

Food: Different assortment of Chinese steamed buns, congee, hot dogs (like the ones at a servo), toast machine, 2 soup, plain rice, one asian beef stew, a few noodles, bacon, hash browns and scrabled eggs. All pretty tasty and frequently checked and freshened up by the staff.

Drinks: Big fridge with Juice boxes, water, beers (heineken and Kirin), obligatory spirits and some awful looking French red. Two coffee machines available.

Wireless: Good signal. Some sites have loaded up a little slowly though but it was quite busy before.

Bathroom: Only saw the mens. One shower (didn't use), plenty of stalls/urinals.

Entertainment: XBOX360 room. Big LCDs, 3 tvs and 3 games to choose from. One side of the lounge also has a big screen nearby.

Overall: Bit of an 80's Regal asian hotel vibe but it's clean, well staffed, comfy and food is adequate. There are a few corners where you could get some shut eye too - depending on how busy the lounge is...

Thanks for the heads up. :D
I have a few hours in there on a CX I MR next week.
Is it like the MEL Int QP dungeon or can you actually see daylight?

Cheers :D

Hey (david870mdg),

I forgot to add that. It's not a dungeon but the only outside vew is through some venitian covered windows that looks out onto the terminal two check in area. So it doesn't necessarily have any natural light coming in.
You're on level 4. i think the highest level.

Cheers

Does not sound too bad.

I think I will be in the EVA J lounge for a couple of hours end of this month. Do they have any desktops for internet access if I get bored?

Hey (JohnK),

Yep, there are a few desktops. Just saw them today. Didn't notice the business centre the other day.

I"ll post some pics later on too.

Cheers

You will be more than likely using the much smaller CX lounge in Terminal 1 rather the the evergreen lounge in Terminal 2, Dragonair go from terminal 2 (new one).

Looks nice.

Is security screening at TPE after immigration or is it at the gates like SIN? I may need to take a sample of some beers for the ~90 minute taxi trip after I land at BKK airport later that night.

No EVA Evergreen lounge for me today.

Flying KLM business class from Terminal 2 and I was given an invite to China Airlines Dynasty Lounge. Big lounge and internet access available but very quiet this time of the night. Plenty of dim sums, dumplings sort of food available.
