Europe 2025 - Greece, Croatia, Spain, Morocco and Portugal

After Milos, we caught the Seajets ferry back from Milos to Piraeus via Sifnos and Serifos.

Bit of a wasted night in Athens but didn't want to risk the only direct flight to Dubrovnik at 8.45am. An option was Santorini at 6am with that connection...

We had the Lufthansa lounge again, while number 1 daughter lounged at the gate 😀.

Interestingly the Aegean lounge only lets the gold member in, and if you want to go in as a 2, then they direct you to the Goldair Handling lounge. A third person costs 50 euros.

Arrived into Dubrovnik about 9.30am.

If your a 3 don't use the shuttle bus @ 10 euros each. Don't catch a taxi at 40 - 45 euros. Catch an Uber. Half the cost even with 2 Euro tipping each time. We always try for the public bus (or metro), but the timings seemed a worry and we didn't see one while we waited for the shuttle ( 😞)

We stayed at Villa Malo More, which are newer apartments just next door to what is Hotel More. We had our own 12m pool outside our sliding doors. I called it our own as nobody else used it. We had the use of all the Hotels facilities as well as the brekky in Tramuntana. A la carte and buffet. The choices as good as anywhere we have been.

The hotel was extremely good value for the price paid (and even better after expedia pts and shopback)

The Uvala Lapad area and promenade walk is beautiful with plenty of restaurants and bars

Hotel More or the villas is one of the best hotel choices we have made. Highly recommended. Uber ride to Old town or Port was 6 - 8 euros only

Cruising the Dalmatian islands from Dubrovnik to Split was great. Cruise and swim stop during brekky into lunch, then another port stop, guided tour or walk, free time for dinner and into the evening, sleep at port overnight, then repeat.

The stops and places were all great, but the cruising and scenery was very similar each day. Would I do it again, no, but glad we did it and forked out some $ on a great boat. Although you can do it cheaper and see the same places, I think it's worth forking out a little more for luxury.

Happy for anybody to ask questions 😀

Only about 5 days behind now :)

To come:
- Vueling flight SPU to BCN
- Spanish Formula 1 GP (so so good!)
- Barcelona, Sagrada, Sant Pau (wow, +wow)
- Valencia, meh, been here before and another rooftop bar was CLOSED again
- currently heading to Granada via Alicante

Vueling. Low cost Spanish airline.

SPU Split - BCN Barcelona

Took the Fly Grande option with checked, priority, cancellation etc which was 2x plus the base flight cost. But that's what happens when you have checked luggage

Split airport, lovely smaller airport which is quite busy. Easy quick checkin, no lines! Deceptively quiet pre security, so had drinks at an upstairs cafe. Security was quick and a breeze, very efficient. Departure hall was full to the brim at all gates, with hardly a spare seat in sight. We parked ourselves at Gate 2 for a Gate 4 departure for a couple of hours.

Vueling not part of star alliance, but lounge is available if Aegean, Lufthansa etc. Yes, i did try as did another Air Canada gold at the same time, and we were quickly turned away 😀

Didnt upgrade to Space Plus, and just had a normal up front seat. Massive amount of room and extremely comfortable for a LCC and an A319. No food or drinks unless you paid, not even water, although I didn't ask to see if it was free.

Summing it up... fantastic day

Had to buy a 3 day ticket, but could only attend Sunday race day.

Easy access from CBD on train..Sagrada to
Clot on Metro, then R2 from Clot to Montmelo. Walked 40mins to track instead of free shuttle bus (it was slower). So 1.5hrs getting to the track, just in time for F2 ! We stayed around to watch the presentations on TV screens, which meant we waited an extra hour for a train..no biggie, 2 and a bit hrs to return.

We did turns 3 4 5 6..all superb viewing for General Admission, could move and change spots with ease. Water queues were as big as food queues and toilets, although it was ok and as expected..plenty of shade, misting stations and areas for entertainment.

Insta has a reel with videos, but here is a few still shots
