Hey guys,

Just have a question regarding the Etihad premium stopover. I'll be taking a one way business class flight in November from Johannesburg to Sydney including a stopover in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. I'm planning on spending one night in Abu Dhabi and two in Dubai. I saw on their website that they offer one night free stay at a choice of a few 5 star hotels. What I need to know is if its one free night straight off the bat or if I need to pay for one night in order the get the 2nd night free?

I have rung the call centre and spoken to their Facebook team and haven't gotten anywhere. Have to say dealing with them has been extremely frustrating. This question seems to have thrown them into complete and utter confusion. I need to know so I can book the correct dates for the flights. Has anyone had any experience with the stopover?

Cheers, Nathan

Well I called the call centre again tonight and the lady I spoke to has no clue about the stopover. She recommended I make a booking anyway, screenshot the page on their own website and email it to their feedback service. I'm dumbfounded! If it weren't for the status and points I would never fly with them again.

However if you check the T&Cs you will notice the complimentary night is valid for return tickets only.

It has to be return business too. A mixed business/economy fare is ineligible, I found out the hard way.

The stopover programme is operated by Hala Abu Dhabi, but are just as unhelpful as their dealing with their parent company.

Thanks guys. Yep I went ahead and booked my flights anyway and I shall pay for a night stay in Abu Dhabi. Doesn't bother me but I'm more frustrated with the uselessness of the call centre. Still, cant complain about JNB - AUH - SYD business for $2600!
