Hi all,

My partner recently flew with Etihad and has been advised that it takes four to six weeks to post points and status credits to Velocity.

Four to six weeks?! :( Does anyone know why it takes so long?

Thanks

Hi

Same thing happened to me got the outbound flights points/SC after 4 weeks, inbound flights its now up to 6 weeks, emailed retro@ etc with boarding passes and spoke to Gold frequent flyer and they said they would chase it, they emailed me back to say the contacted Etihad to confirm details (even tho they on boarding passes) and it could take another 4+ weeks........ Ridiculously slow, annoying as well as these flights will push me to platinum.

Does not surprise me - transition to Sabre took at least 4-6 weeks for some VA & Velocity points and SC earning to be restored to functionality, then Ethiad was the next cab off the rank for Sabre transition. I am not an expert in how Ethiad handled the transition but I would imagine that may have introduced additional complexities when trying to credit the SC/points back into Velocity.

I know its no consolation to you ScottBoyd68 but once Virgin and Ethiad get over the Sabre transition it should all be much faster and more automated into the future.

Hyperbole much? I flew on one of the first flights out of BNE under Sabre and my points posted the next day.

Fair point - corrected to "some" not "any and/or all" implication from the original post.

Definitely agree with you on that one, because my flight two days before Sabre needed manual intervention six weeks later :p. And I have just lodged retro claims for some SQ flights a month back as well. Interestingly my wife's flights on SQ (different reservation, but mostly the same flights) posted the next day.

My local flights, no issues 24-36hrs and they are in, just seems international flights are always slow..

Hi there,
There was a backlog of airline points earned files, following the Sabre cutover. We should be up to date now.
FYI - It should now take no longer than 14 days for EY flight activity to post.

I have never had a major issue with EY points posting and in fact last Friday my wife, daughter and mother in law flew VS to Honkers and the mother in law and wife's points posted by the following Tuesday. My daughter was on the same PNR as my wife and so far no points.... a little odd...

PS: Welcome back VFF...

Nope still an Issue I flew March 13th on a flight that would have made me Gold status. Was just informed it would be 4-6 weeks after I put my claim in. Even though my velocity number was on the ticket and it was a VA Codeshare with Etihad. Early may credit for a mid march flight is excessive.

Hawaiian airlines, no SC's or points from departure 27th March 13, return 6th April 13. Eleven family members flew in J all had Velocity number on booking and no one has got any SC's or points.

I wish, 2 months and counting for flight from Feb........

Before Velocity points (and SCs) can be posted by us, we require documentation from our partners. Unfortunately this is done in batches, and not in real time.
Hence why partner airline flights can take 4 - 6 weeks. Retro claims even longer.
Sorry to say this is just part of the big wheels turning!

Thanks for the update VFF, I am happy to wait as I am Plat and it will not affect my travel with Lounge and bonus points etc but the other family members will just have to wait to they get their SC's to turn Plat and Gold. Hopefully my parents accounts get credited before they visit me in a few weeks. We did try and book all these seats direct through Virgin, which I assume would make crediting quicker even if you fly with a partner, but that was another issue when we booked back towards the end of last year.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Is 4 - 6 weeks really acceptable though?

I can appreciate the requirement for the verification as such, but it doesn't really sit well with customers (especially those waiting for the SC's to jump levels)

This equally applies for the JQ shenanigans as well.

I agree, I understand there needs to be checks & balances but at the end of the day 6 weeks or longer is not acceptable regardless.

You offer a Loyalty program so you need to deliver on the entire service experience (pre, during & post), at the moment the flights are fine in my experience but the website issues and velocity issues after just don't cut it.......

Surely it would be reasonable for VFF to demand a timeframe that's better than 4-6 weeks to receive earn data from partners - especially a key partner like EY? You've obviously managed to get this from the folk at NZ, DL, SQ, VS..... it's 2013, after all.

Just received EY sc and points via family pooling. Took 13 days :) but posted in the wrong order wasting 20 sc for retaining gold :(. Overall quite :).

Until you miss out on requal by 20 SC's!
