Etihad in whY. What can I expect?

flew them last year in whY MEL-AUH, I thought the service was quite good for whY and the 2-4-2 A346 was comfy too, slept quite a bit. Used my VA silver status to get into the lounge there, smallish airport (compared to DXB or even DOH)

If it is the 777-300 it will be 3-4-3 and the seat is an inch (25mm) narrower .

I was going to pose this question in it's own thread, but it fits quite nicely here.
Does anyone have experience with the Etihad IFE system? I believe it the same across the wide-body fleet. Trip reports mention there is a USB port for watching your own content on the seatback, and an ethernet port for some other reason.
Can you just plug any USB drive/external HDD/phone into the seat and it will allow you to browse for your file, or are there special requirements?
