Hi guys
Anyone has used their velocity points on Etihad rewards seats in last 6 to 9 months? Did you really get charged the Etihad Airways Reward Seat Carrier Charge that has been around for the last few years and if yes was it a separate transaction to pay while booking it? How did they charge it?

Paid for in the taxes component. Unless you were looking for it you wouldn't notice it as the taxes displayed on the website already include the carrier surcharge.

Here is an example of how it looks on a recently issued eticket:

If you were wondering how it was charged on a credit card then no different to the rest of the taxes. Will appear as a travel purchase from Virgin Au Spring Hill. Noting that if pay via a card that attracts a fee then the fee will be billed separately as a 2nd transaction on the card (same as all Virgin cash/reward flights).
