I am toying with a tip to Stockholm later this year. (QR are having a small 'companion' J sale out of Singapore, and other cities, at about $3,200 per pax for 2 people to Stockholm.) I was thinking of maybe jumping across to Oslo as well and had a look at airfares. I was amazed to see that Ethiopian Airlines have 5th Freedom rights between the two cities. Checking on the AFF list of 5th Freedom Flights I see that it is on that list.
The return airfare, in a B787-9, starts from about $137 dollars. This is about nearly half of what SAS wants for the same trip. I wonder if this fare is due to what happened a few months ago or it was always very cheap. The train fare is also much higher.
