Essentials to Platinum?

I have a Qantas Ultimate and an AMEX essentials.

I am trying to upgrade to an AMEX platinum.

Is there anything I can do on the Essentials card to get a bonus points upgrade offer to Platinum?

Amex platinum is a charge card, I don't think you can upgrade from credit card to Charge card.
